Aviation Survival and Egress Training with SEA MK Emergency Breathing Devices

How would you SURVIVE in open water? Join Survival Systems USA and learn how to survive an aviation emergency at HAI Heli-Expo 2020. This certification course is for pilots, aircrew, and passengers interested in basic preflight, in-flight, and post-aircraft-ditching knowledge and survival skills, including use of emergency breathing devices (EBDs). This course begins at the Anaheim Convention Center with an aircraft ditching classroom session followed by a 5 minute walk to the Hilton Anaheim indoor pool to practice your new survival skills. Classroom is business casual and the in-water session is for swimmers and non-swimmers alike so pack a swimsuit, t-shirt, closed-toe footwear suitable for the pool (old pair of sneakers or water shoes), and a towel.

  • Presentation on hazards, equipment, and procedures including surface water survival via group and personal hypothermia mitigation (academic)
  • Pre-ditching procedures and landing considerations (academic)
  • Basic underwater escape with and without emergency breathing device (academic and practical)
