Coping With Interruptions and Distractions
Topic:
Coping With Interruptions and Distractions: The Myth of Multi-Tasking
Date and Time:
Saturday, December 7, 2019, starting at 10:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dennis Miller, FAASTeam Representative of the Year for the DuPage District (2019)
Brief Description:

Distractions and interruptions are causal factors in nearly 25% of motor vehicle accidents in the United States. Distractions and interruptions can severely compromise flight safety as well, especially if they occur during critical phases of flight. General aviation pilots are particularly at risk because they usually do not have additional flight crew members to assist them.

We will discuss the importance of managing passenger expectations, using a checklist and the proper use of autopilots as means to effectively cope with interruptions and distractions.
