Once a pilot, always a pilot...But, if you're feeling a little Rusty...

You might be like more than 500,000 other pilots (that's right, half a million), who have taken a break from flying.  The good news is that getting back to flying is easier than you think.  So, what does it take to get back in the air?

• Some flight and ground instruction
• No FAA checkride or test
• You may not even need a medical

Join us for a fun, interactive seminar that will give you all the information you need to get current again.  As a seminar participant, you'll get 3 hours of ground instruction toward completing your flight review, valuable take-home materials, and handouts so you can review what you've learned. We'll help you brush up on your aviation knowledge and understand what's changed since you last took the controls.

Rusty Pilots is created by AOPA and hosted by local flight training providers.

There is no pre-registration on the FAA site for this event.

Your AOPA You Can Fly Rusty Pilots and Flying Clubs teams have joined forces with Rogue Valley Flying Club to bring you a day of in-person aviation education.

The day starts at 9:00am, with one of the very popular Rusty Pilots seminars. This three-hour "ground school" counts as the ground part of a flight review - you'll event get an endorsement and WINGS credit! Become one of the 10,000 rusty pilots who are now back flying because of this program. You can register for this event, here.
 
At 1:15pm, the Flying Clubs Team will present Maximum Fun, Minimum Cost: The Wonderful World of Flying Clubs. You've earned your pilot's license - now what? Join us to learn about how joining a flying club will help you get the most out of your pilot's license, share the cost of ownership and operations, and take control of your aviation journey alongside like-minded aviators. (Pre-registration for this seminar is not required.)

Topping off the day, at 2:30pm, there will be an FAA WINGS safety seminar, "Expand your Horizons". Pilots generally do not have accidents when in their "comfort zone", so it makes sense that we should train to expand that zone. Proficiency training in stall, spin, and upset recovery techniques will help reduce loss of control accidents. We agree - but should we do something else first?
