SoCal Pilot's Association will be presenting an IFR Refresher on February 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and March 2nd. Each webinar will have two hours and will allow for 30 minutes of questions and answers at the end of each presentation, via the chat feature. This will be a series of webinars and will allow for a week in between for attendees to digest the material before moving on to the next webinar.
We have excellent presenters, well versed in instrument flying and of course, procedures. The presenters are Mike Jesch, Gary Schank, Brian Schiff, Garry Felker. Each will have a designated Tuesday in the month of February and the first Tuesday in March. We encourage you to attend all of these webinars.
The presentations will include, but not be limited to: Chart symbology (enroute and terminal), taxi diagrams, NOTAMS, inoperative equipment and temperature corrections, currency (maintaining and regaining), what's in an IPC logging, safety pilots, simulators, weather (sources and methods, reports, forecasts, differences between AWOS, ASOS, ATIS), clearance adherence, loss of comm, SIDS, STARS, approach intercept, crosswind techniques and stabilized approaches, holds, the use of ForeFlight in IFR and approach plate briefing.
These subjects are presented as a refresher - the more you know, the better you fly.
