New York City Special Flight Rules
New rules for the New York City area take effect on November 19, 2009

On November 19, 2009, the FAA will implement a comprehensive set of new rules that significantly enhances safety in the area around New York’s Hudson River.  These safety changes modify procedures to the exclusionary zone that overlies the Hudson River.  Key focus areas include airspace structure, pilot operating rules, entry and egress points, standardized area charts and pilot training.  The pilot training module is available on this site and is titled “New York City Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA).”  You can click this link to go directly to the course catalog (if you are signed in to your account) or cut and paste the link into your browser: http://www.faasafety.gov/gslac/ALC/course_catalog.aspx and register for the course.
