We are excited to announce that this year’s Rochester WINGs 2012 event will feature the annual Helicopter Safety Summit. Rochester WINGs and the Rochester, NY FSDO have partnered with Helicopter Association International (HAI), the largest helicopter association in the world! HAI has served its membership and taken many actions on behalf of helicopter operators throughout the world. The organization has benefited the entire industry, to include manufacturers, suppliers, operators, pilots and mechanics. The association’s initiatives have had a direct and positive impact on helicopter activities around the world!

The Helicopter Safety Summit is designed to specifically address safety and risk management for all helicopter operators to include Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Law Enforcement and Public Use operators, helicopter tour operators, Electronic News Gathering operators, helicopter flight schools, helicopter technicians and private helicopter pilots.

The Helicopter Summit will take place on Saturday, June 9th, 2012. Helicopter operators, pilots and technicians from all across the Northeast will be attending this important event. Featured presentations include HAI Safety Initiatives, Surviving the Wire Environment, Human Factors & Fatigue, Human Factors in Helicopter Maintenance, International Helicopter Safety Team (IHST) initiatives and much more. Details on the web site at: http://www.rochesterwings.com/OpportunitiestoLearn/HelicopterSafetySymposium.aspx

Also, feel free to visit the other attractions at Rochester WINGs, including nearly 50 exhibitors from around the country and dozens of unique static displays. Saturday, June 9th activities will include a full day of seminars of interest to pilots, students and aviation enthusiasts.  We will have a large static display of general aviation aircraft, old and new including everything from typical airplanes that students could expect to train in to classic jets. The day will be filled with exciting learning stations for all ages, avionics demonstrations, guided bus tours of runways and taxiways, new aircraft for sale, flight instruction for credits in FAA WINGS Pilot Proficiency Program, great food (including a fly-in breakfast sponsored by the Civil Air Patrol and lunch from Nick Tahou’s Hots) as well as hundreds of door prizes and many more activities.
