Title:
Let's not land sideways! Crosswind landings and the unique X-Wind Simulator
Topic:
Flying season has returned to Minnesota, so let's review crosswind landings before we head out into the spring winds.
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 7, 2012 , starting at 9:00 am Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dan MacDonald, CFI/MEI/AGI
Brief Description:
Crosswind landings are often misunderstood, and sometimes feared, by both new and experienced pilots. They can be difficult to practice, since we only get a few seconds per landing. We will take a fresh look at them through video cameras attached to various parts of the airplane. We will also examine the unique (less than 30 in the world) Redbird X-Wind simulator. Become a crosswind expert and handle all landings like a pro. Come early and stay late for coffee and treats, and good conversation with other pilots.
